What is considered a "name change"?

I have searched the forum, but can't seem to find a definitive answer (maybe I was using the wrong keywords) --

When I first submitted my N400, I had filled it out with the name I intended to change to. Now, I have received the appointment letter for the interview. My understanding is that at my DO (Arlington, VA, the office where will I have my interview is in Fairfax, VA), most people who do not have a name change take their oath on the same day. My question is: is my case considered a "name change"?

Thanks,
Walter

i believe so. however, i believe you can request for not-to name change. the interview office might just cross out your name change section. however, if you did not request such undo of the name change request during the interview, i believe your case would be considered as a "name change".
