What is APL???

Hey guys,

I recently came back from a trip abroad for 42 days. I already have a plastic green card. The immigration officer at the port of entry asked me standard questions like, "how many days were you away for?", and "current occupation?" etc. He then stamped my passport. In addition to date and port of entry, the stamp also reads "Class until APL". The immigration officer wrote APL in his own hand writing.

Does anyone of you know what APL stands for? I do not have a slightest clue.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Joe, most likely it is ARC

Joe,

Thanks for your answer.

I took a very close look at the handwritten info on that stamp. I am sure the first letter is A and the last one is C, the middle one could very well be R instead of P. I think you are right, it could be ARC, acronym for "Alien Registration Card". Perhaps, in the rush to get things done faster, the immigration officer scribbled it quickly in such a way that it is not entirely legible writing. So the stamp perhaps reads, "Class until ARC".

And yes, I do not have to worry on this account. I was only curious about the handwritten acronym from the immigration officer at the airport.

You always provide meaningful info to those who need it.
