What if you don't renew EAD and AP ??

I think I know the answer but thougt I would run it by the experts here. JoeF or Ginnu or any other experts please advise...

I still have H-1 for about 1.8 years (Valid visa and I-94). I applied for 485 in september 2003 and have EAD and AP because of that. I never used them though. It will be 4 more months before my EAD and AP expire. I am thinking of not renewing them as I am still working on h1 and plan to do so as long as I can.
Is this OK ? I mean not to renew EAD/AP ? Do i have to tell BCIS why ? Just in case if I lose h-1 status, will I still be in status (My 485 is pending) if I do not have EAD/AP ? (I know I cannot work or travel with out these, but no problem to my status -right ??)

Appreciate any responses....
 
1st thing: It is always safe to extend ur EAD and AP for lot of reasons.

2nd Thing: It is not a must. u can renewa it when u want. I don't think there will be a problem if the EAD/AP epxires by the time u send the EAD.
