What if travel on AP, I-485 approved while in home country, how can we come back?

We plan to travel on AP to home country for 1 month. What if our I-485 approved while we are in home country? Can we still come back on AP? I read another post that once I-485 is approved, AP will be voided automatically, and so is H1 visa stamp. But we don't have PP stamp or plastic card, how can we come back??
