What if the job changes becomes necessary now?

Folks,

My details are: EB3, India, I485 ND 02/22/00, in possession of EAD card, PD 01/28/97, no FP yet, finished 6 years on H1 and currently on O1 visa. If I change jobs now, are there any implications about the O1 visa? I am assuming the s.2045 clause regarding i485 applies irrespective of visa type (i.e; H1 or O1) but I don\'t know if my assumptions is correct. Are there instances where EAD renewal (I need as of 05/2001) is denied becuase the employer has changed? again, I am assuming EAD is irrespective of employer and is sole reason why you can work for multiple employer although the primary employer should petitioner for 6 months after the i485 is filed.

Please let me know your thoughts.

I read on the http://www.immigration-law.com (Under Breaking News) that INS may be leaning towards applying this 2045 provision to change employers to only people who apply 485 after the law was passed. So with the assumption that you applied before the law was passed, I want to tell you to be careful. If INS decides to go that route, you will be in trouble.

Firstly, I thank you for alerting me and it also confirms my previous cautions that I wrote in my postings on this forum to not change jobs prior to getting further details.

Secondly, I urge everybody who is in thought of changing jobs to read this web posting on www.immigration-law.com breaking news section to re-think their decision. I am currently re-thinking mine.
