what if packet 4/ appointment letter is not available

I had posted this in the cofirmed oct 04 interview thread. didnt get much response.. so, here i am trying again

Guys,

I had not requested the consulate to send P4 to India. When I called to ask the consulate abt my interview date, the lady volunteered the information that I will be receiving my P4 in the US at my address and if i dont receive it, i can bring the print out of the table.

My qn is:

I have interview on 15th and I am leaving a little early. Suppose i dont get my appt letter, does Lister Labs and doctor make a big deal out of it or are they ok with some email or case #??

There are three things you can do.

a) Send someone to the Chennai Consulate with your full details and ask them to collect a duplicate appointment letter.

b) If you happen to be there at Chennai yourself, you can go to the Consulate
and collect a duplicate appointment letter.

c) If the (a) and (b) are not possible, then send out an email to the Consulate so that they respond with your interview date. Take a print of this response.

And,

From the website of the Consulate print out the list of cases scheduled
for Oct interviews.

Then you can carry these papers to the Lister labs and the Doctor. They will
accept this proof.

thanks for the response. the first thing i will be doing is going to lister labs in the morning and I will fly into chennai only the prev night. I will perhaps use the rest of the day to collect the appt letter from the consulate before going to the doctor, incase i dont get the appt letter before i leave.

One more qn - I am not familiar with chennai, so where in the consulate should I go ask for duplicate appointment letter and when?

The lady I spoke to in the consulate said that if i click on the documentation tab in the website, i should be able to download everything for Packet 4. I cant see one link for everything. Is there something i am missing? I believe i need a medicals' form, some tax related form and ds-232- part II.
