What if one misses scheduled interview at local office?

Folks,

What happens if one misses a scheduled interview because the interview letter did not reach in time? Can we ask it to be rescheduled? How do we request it? Has any one had this experience before?

don't worry.it happened to me .i was in india when i got my interview letter.
so wrote letter(just normal letter ,like menstioning the reason i missed interview), and all evidenace (my itnerary, passport stampings departure arraivals). imeediately i got another interview letter for after 2 weeks .
