I had my medicals on 18th February 2013. They say that medicals expire after 6 months. Now, if I don't get the visa before 18th August 2013, my medical will expire. Suppose my medicals expire, and then I get the visa, what I should I do then? Should I have another medical checkup, what's the procedure? Can one travel to US with an expire medical?

Looking forward to your replies!!!

For US imm. purposes medical reports from a DoS/USCIS recommended Dr. is valid for 1 yr.
So you will be alright.
However, for CP when they stamp the DV on your PP the validity of it cannot exceed the expiry date of the medical.
If they issue your visa after Aug. 18th, you will not get the usual 6 mos max. validity, it will cap at Feb 17th 2014.

Best!

Medical reports are valid for 6-12 months from the date of examination and it is dependant on the examination results as well. You need to have a valid medical report at the time of entry. Generally, visa validity is limited to match your medical report’s validity, so if your medical report is going to expire within the 6 months validity of your immigrant visa, your visa will be limited too.
