What Happens to my case?? With new JAN 08 Visa Bulletin

Hi Gurus,

I have filed my I-485 (EB2 India) at Nebraska Service Center on Jan 18,2007.
My PD is Aug 10, 2000. My security checks have been cleared just a couple of weeks back. EB2 India visa dates, as of Dec07, is Jan 01, 2002.

Current processing times of NSC for I-485 is April 14, 2007.
As processing times are out of my filed date, I have called 1-800 and came to know that my case is waiting for an officer.

But now as per jan 08 visa bullitin, EB2 INDIA date is gone back to Jan 01, 2000.

Now I am nervous that if my case is taken for processing ( security checks done & I-485 current processing times are out of my filed date ) with new visa jan 08 bullitin??

Any inputs or openions?
 
I suggest you raise an SR, that may sometime make them to look at the file before Dec 30.

Dont delay. I was waiting for more than 18 months for my GC,as i was told, i was in Name check. I opened a SR on Nov 16th (friday) and they approved my gc on Nov 17th (saturday). This was in NSC. I dont believe all the cases are in same situation. But if what happened to me, happens to you. Then it will save at least a year. Good Luck.

including me several ppl have opened SR and are still pending NC......so i believe it was a coincidence.,,tht SR and NC clearance time were similar....

but still it doesnt hurt to initiate a SR...

in some cases everything including NC is clear but the files are collecting dust somewhere for no reason..so yes do initiate a SR
 
I would suggest you open a SR. My experience was similar to polikepati: I opened a SR on Nov 19th and my 485 was approved Nov 20th. Coincidence?? Probably..

I assume ur I140 is approved. U might want to include ur details in ur signature so that ppl who want to respond have a better idea abt ur case.

Same boat

I am also in the same boat as you guys. I called up USCIS they said that checks are done and everything is in place, Just that its waiting for an officer to be assigned. Is there a possible way to speed up this assignment. Its been in this state for more than 9 days (After my 2nd FP done on 12/5/20007). Appreciate your response.

Opened a SR

I just called the 1-800 number and a nice lady helped me open a SR, since the case was out of normal processing time. My fingers are crossed now..

I have raised service request about 1 month ago but never get my case assigned to the officer. My PD is aug 2000 & I-485 filed on Jan 2007. My name check was cleared.

I have called 1-800 and a nice lady told me that she would send a mail to the concerned for keeping my file in active path. This was done on 12/12.

I have sent mails to ombudsman, two senators but these were of any use.

Today when I called 1-800, the lady told me that my case is with an officer as of 12/14 because some one brought this case to the notice.

I am now crossing my fingers that my case may be processed before 01/01/2008 lest PD gets retrogressed for 01/01/2000 and I may have to wait, god knows for many yeras to get PD would become current.

Can any one tell me that if the file is with the officer, the case gets assigned the visa and can be approved any time? Or if the officer takes his own sweet time, and if the time passes by 01/01/2008 and PD gets retrogressed, then my case will agin go back to back of queue??

Any thoughts and suggestions are appreciated..
