What happens to I-130 when a PR becomes citizen.

Hi All,

Q: 1. What happens to I-130 application when a PR becomes a citizen while the I-130 petition for his/her spouse is not approved yet.

Q:2 . I wonder if becoming a citizen helps anyway to expedite the I-130 approval or to get a K Visa?

Q3: Like many others, I have filed I-130 petition for my wife in Nebraska Center. We are waiting on approval yet. Some of my friends are suggesting to apply for Immigration To Canada ( my approximate points for canadian immigration are 82), and then eventually my wife could apply for a Visitor's Visa from Canada (As Canadian Permanent Resident).

I am not sure if that works?

Any suggestions?

once you become citizen, you have let the center where you applied know with a copy of your Naturalization Certificate and they will upgrade your I-130 file.
