Hi. Does anyonw has experience with folowing situations?

Could not find abswer to following question in FAQ:
What happens to my H1 when the comapany closes down?
1. How much time do i have to stay in US?
2. After company closes, and say i get a job later, can i transfer H1 or i have to file a brand new H1 petition ?

Company shuts down H1 is no longer valid

H1 is valid as long as you are employed by a company that is in business. When the company closes (not mergerd or acquired by another company) the H1 can be considered to be null and void. Since you are no longer employed you could be out of status. There is some grace period when it happens contact a lawyer. People on this discussions have sometimes talked about 45 to 60 day window.

When you get a new job with a new company you will need a new H1.
