hello Gurus,
could you please tell me what happens to EAD/AP and entire 485 process if someone first files 824 for CP but later due to some situations files 485 for AOS? I had first filed 824 for CP but later filed 485. lawyer says that the 485 forms were mailed to INS on 3rd august 2001. The checks for EAD and AP got cleared 3 weeks ago but i havent received the receipt nor the EAD/AP. havent heard anything from the lawyer. anybody in a similar case? do u think that bcos the 824 was filed earlier that will result in a delay in the EAD/AP as well? I have heard that in such cases the 485 approval takes time but am not sure if it effects the receipt and EAD/AP too. any thoughts on what I should expect now?

Answer to your query.

Even i filed for 824 and got it approved in order to go for CP,later filed 485.I got my receipt and EAD in time.waiting for my AP notice.As you were telling that the cheques got encashed,call IIO and they should be able to give you the receipt date ,notice date and the EAC number.

but i checked the AVM and also spoke to IIO at VSC. AVM says my I824 has been sent to NSC while IIO didnt find my information and suggested to call NSC. She didnt specify the basis for that. I am surprised why they would do this.
 
I 485 receipt.

My lawyerr also says that she filed my I485, EAD and Advance Parole on the 1 week of August 2001. I did not get receipt of it.
If you receive the receipt or EAD please post it, I shall also update you if I get it.
