What happens if your 485 gets approved when you are outside the country

My freind has a valid H1 and his wife has AP.hIS 485 got approved WHEN HE WAS in India.Can he return back on H1 and his wife on AP?????

Ofcourse he can as long as his H1 is valid.

I do not know the procedure but there are fair rules to enter the country (kind of stamping in the passport at port of entry).
lawyer can easily help them.

I think AP gets cancelled automatically, when I485 is approved. So one cannot use AP to enter USA.

I believe both would be allowed to enter on H1B/AP, but I read somewhere that in worst case, every such individual is definitely allowed to enter the country under "defferred inspection". You can search the forums for this to read more about it.
