What will happen if you miss your scheduled oath ceremony if the letter was lost in the mail? Would they give you another one or the case would be closed?
The best thing you can do is ,
Infopass at your local INS , and talk to an IIO , most likely you will be asked to write a short explanation on why you missed the oath and beg them for a new date
Good luck
Problem is, how do you know if the letter was lost, or just hasn't been sent yet.?
My wife is in same position; after unsucessfully calling the 800 customer disservice number last week, it seems the only real solution is an infopass appt. Unfortunately that means a 2 hour drive and more time off work...
I missed my oath date on May 27th in Denver, CO. I had moved residences on May 5th within the same city and had given a forwarding address with USPS. I also called the 800 number to give them the new address along with the AR-11.
Since they do not forward USCIS letters, it went back to Nebraska on May 5th.
3 weeks later I got a handwritten letter from Nebraska with my oath letter, the original envelope (thats how I found that I missed it by a whisker) sent to my new address. Later I also got a "Notice of Action" letters stating my new address.
I took an infopass appt with the Denver DO. Gave them the oath that was missed. They could not put me in for the June date, but gave me July 19th.
I heard that you are given 3 chances, before they declare you have abandoned your case.
