What happens at and after Passport Stamping ??

My questions, are:

When you go for your PP stamping at any INS office, do they cancel your H1/H4 right there ?
If not, then how does your H1/H4 gets cancelled ?

Are we legally obligated to stick with the same company that files our GC for a certain number of months ?
If not, then how soon one can switch jobs and without getting into any trouble from the current employer ?

Is it a better idea to stay with the same company until one receives his/her plastic card ?

Thoughts and experiences, please ??

First of all, it\'s crazy if you still wanna cling on to H1/H4\'s once gc approved, don\'t you think? You are asking as if you wanna apply for a job with BS degree once you get MS degree.
Ofcourse, the longer you can work for sponsoring company, it\'s better for your future, but no one can answer to you exactly. When you waited 5 to 6 years, why not another few months, it\'s only your choice.
