Our priority date is october 2001 (EB3-ROW)
It became current on august 15 visa bulletin.
We did not receive anything yet.
Is there anyone else with same stuation.
Will Infopass appointment help? Or Senator could?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance.........

USCIS recommends to wait for atleast 90 days after your PD became current. It is just 30 days. So please be patient. You should be doing parties rather than worrying. There are lots of people on this forum who would love to "worry" like you ;-)

Best Luck ! Keep us posted.

PuerThoughts, can you confirm whether the 90 days info is official from USCIS ? I guess if no decision is made on my case, after that a follow up with congressman would be in order.

6-th year, I advice you to start searching this forum for topics covering "namecheck"

Marlon,

I think you are correct. You will need to contact the Congress Person to get help if you have not received anything from USCIS after 30 days have elapsed once your PD became current. I would also check with the USCIS customer service(!!?) phone to see what is wrong with the case. Generally they have pretty good idea about the case once it hits the current PD mark (How convienient !)

30 days is more than enough ..

6th-year,

If your PD has been current for over 30 days and there is no movement in your case then its time to get aggressive with your followups. Call the service center and see what they say. Next get in touch with local congressman and explain the situation in a detailed letter. Hopefully its not a "name check" issue. Either way you need to find out whats going on so that you can plan your next move.

good luck and keep us posted.

File WOM now! You will get what you deserve in 2 months. Otherwise just prepare to wait another 3 years.

your PD becoming current doesn't mean much to USCIS. my PD was current in EB-2 from April , VSC gave a rats ass about it. now it got retrogressed and i have to wait. the date you filed the case in the Service center also matters, if your dates are not reached, these guys will not tell you nothing. they will read the same thing you read in the online status message, like a parrot.

unless you start calling your congressman, senator, Sec of state, president of USA...not much will happen.

If your PD became current on Aug 15th, it means that they will try to start processing your application starting Sep 1st, as the VB is always for the next month.
So wait till at least Oct 1st and then call up. I'm surprised no one's mentioned this. Am I right about this?
My PD is also current, thanks to the latest VB and I'll wait till end of Oct/early Nov before taking any action.
My FP was done on June 9th. Is there any way I can figure out what's going on with that?

nj,
if your service center is VSC and your PD is current and your case is filed before May 2005 then you can call and ask them after oct 1. but if you filed the case later than May 2005 then they will tell you nothing. expect standard responses....that we are processing cases before May 2005...wait till so many days...blah blah blah...atleast that is my experience.

Thanks, Michael. Mine was filed in May 2006 so I guess I'll have a loooong wait.
Yes, I filed at VSC with PD Apr 02 in EB2. At least, it was VSC when I filed and I haven't gotten any notification about it being moved anywhere else.

I wonder if a case will be current in Oct VB and restrogressed again in Nov VB. Oops! What should they do? If USCIS act slow, the case wouldn't be approved in that one month time frame.

How about infopass?

Thanks to everyone for your responses.

In the meantime we have scheduled an Infopass as suggested by our lawyer for later in Spetember. As you could see from the info in the footer, ours is one of the few cases that took exceptionally long.

At this stage, would you advise going to the Infopass appointment with a lawyer? If so, is there a specialized lawyer at (working with) Newark that you could recoemmend - now that we feel can't really achieve much with our current lawyer.

Thanks again.

6th-year, can you clarify what's the infopass appointment will be for ?
Are you saying because your PD is current and NSC processing times are also current for you ?

Becoming current in Oct and getting retrogerssed in Nov is an unlikely scenario, even if we're talking abot DOS/USCIS.
What do you mean by "If USCIS act slow, the case would be approved in that one month time frame"? Why would a case be approved in a month's time frame if USCIS acts slowly?
