What happens after FP

Friends,

We gave our finger printing today at Phoenix! I have my I-140, AP, and EAD approved. I would like to know what happens after FP? We have to just wait for the I-485 approval or there will be anything else coming up on the way?

all your answers are appreciated.

Thanks,
Antro

if this is your 1st FP, typically, there will be 1 to 2 yrs of waiting period before you hear anything from them. Depending on whether it is a EB2 or EB3 category, EB2 is usually faster than EB3 and they might approve your I485 without having to go for 2nd FP. And if you case is clean, meaning submitted everything required by the immigration, FP and name check turns around fast by the FBI, your I485 might get approve faster too. In between, you can renew your EAD and AP.
i did mine 1st FP on 2/03 and had my 2nd FP on 9/04. 3 weeks later i got a RFE from the immigration requesting me to re-submit my photos (new passport standard). RFE replied and waiting for decision on my case.

az_vdub,

Thanks for the reply! Hmm... it seems to be a long wait ahead, I would prefer not to wait so long... but nothing is in our hand..... Did your online messsage changed whenever your FP and Name check were verified by FBI? How long this takes?

Thanks and goodluck!

Thanks.....both of my FPs took about a week to get clear from the FBI. When this happen, your online case status should change to " On date, the results of fingerprints have been received and processing has resume on your case....." something to that effect.

good luck to you too......
