I was schocked whem my manager asked me why Indian men have such least respect for their wife and her family and why they have to buy their wife's by giving dowry.
Apparenty my colleague who is an Indian told my manager
that every time she visits her family in India he sends her empty handed and expects her parents to pay for all her expenses while she is there. Iam surprised that there are still people like this.

I wonder what's your motive behind starting such a thread and this being your first post with this ID. Who are you?

Do not post irrelavent stuff

I think it is high time these guys should realise before posting such an thread. This forum is purely immigration related so kindly adhere to the principles of the forum. I think we should not encourage this kind of threads posted, moderators should block these kind of threads.

In our society I think it's better to get married with dowry.Though some people get married without dowry their thinking remains the same old.
I have a friend who got married to a rich guy without dowry because his family wanted a lavish wedding but did not want dowry. But now she feels she would have been better off
if there was dowry in the wedding rather than spending it on wedding because then he would treat her parents equally and with respect. Anytime he has to give gifts to his in-laws he buys from walmart but when he goes to india he wants them to give expensive gifts because he is rich.
