what form to file for child's citizenship?

Hi! I just took my oath last month, got my citizenship through naturalization, LPR through my husband.

My two kids, both below 18yrs old, who are currently green card holders were petitioned by my husband as step children (IR-2 visas). Both kids living with us. Now that I'm naturalized, what form should I file to process my kids citizenship? I'm not sure if I should file N400 or N600K for each of them.

N-600 is the one you need to file for them if they are unmarried and under 18. Otherwise, they can file N-400 when they are 18.
 
If they are living with you in the US with a Green Card then they actually became automatic citizens the day you naturalized. You can go with them and your husband to a post office and apply for their US passports taking with you your naturalization certificate, their Green Cards and their birth certificates. Of course you have to fill out the passport form and get a couple of passport photos for each of them.

Now, N-600 would get them what is called a certificate of citizenship which is further proof of their citizenship. The advantage of this is that it will clearly say the date they became citizens and that it is a document that at least for now never expires. It seems that some states like Texas won't accept a US passport as proof of citizenship to obtain a drivers license. They are the exception, but in general I thin it is good to apply for N-600 for children and get some extra peace of mind.

Basically, try to get the US passports first, and concurrently you can also apply for N-600 (you only need photocopies for the N-600, for the passport you need to send the originals of everything).

You just file sequentially. US Passport Office does not keep the original certificate of naturalization.
