Guys and Gals,

I can't help but ask .. WHAT EXACTLY IS THE USCIS WORKING ON THESE DAYS? Most categories have been retrogressed so there are few new applications and H1 B visas for this year have run out. Apart from working on some 140 cases and approving a few APs and EADs here and there what exactly is this agency doing these days ... I guess they have gotten a much deserved break from "WORKING HARD" :)

Hi Saras76 !!!

I think that they are working in giving us more ...HARD TIME ... that finish what they started so long time ago !!! For new cases too with all this taxes change !!! They allways have said that , they increase the charges just to make their work faster , but i think they work faster to make our lives more painfull !!! That's my opinion !!!

i was hoping to see a flood of approvals this week, but do not see a single approval till now, i think we have to wait it out i guess, I called up TSC last week and the lady gave me some BS abt file being on review with officer (which means its not send to storage) etc -

I hope they approve many people this week before retrogression takes affect

Lay off USCIS

Since they wont have much work, USCIS may lay off some of its workers. And then later, when they have I-485s to process, they will come back complaining that they dont have staff and create a huge backlog. :)
 
You can only see a flood of approvals only if there are any pre-98 cases here. I have seen only a couple of pre-98 cases here. Looks like all the USCIS staff has gone on a vacation to the caribean, and got washed away in Rita.
 
Dallas district office is busy conducting interviews

I counted atleast 30 people going in for interview at Dallas office in about 3 hours on 09/28 AM. Howmany family based and how many employment based I don't know. I was told the officers were double-booked compared to their normal work-load. So I guess Dallas district office is busy conducting interviews :p
