I called VSC to check the status on my case, she took the EAC number and told me that my case is "to be reviewed".

Can anyone tell me what exactly this means?

Is it already assigned to an officer????

Thanks

"To be reviewed' means that it's probably at the officers desk waiting to get reviewed. It could take anywhere from 1 week to 2-3 months depending on you being on his list of priorities.
My file was on the IIO's from Dec end 2002 to Feb 28th 2003 when he decided to transfer the file.
Sorry, not bearer of good news here. But the bright side is it has reached the last leg of the journey.

Anyone got same message...

If anyone got similar message from IIO, please let me know the time it took after assigned to an officer..

Thank you all for responses...

My lawyer called for my case (RD/10/18/01) several times and was told my cases were picked up and in right place "To be reviewed'. My lawyer interprted it as "waiting to open (review)." The latest call was around begining Feb 2003, and my cases were transferred to local one month late. We had interviews in the morning, and got stamped for wife and me. However, my child (approaching 14) went interviews with us but the case is still pending due to FBI name check-this is a matter of time.

Transfer to Local Office

Can someone pl. tell me what is Transfer To Local Office means.
My I-485 was filed in Vermont. At the timer of filing I was working in Houston, now I am working in San Jose, CA. My Employer is at Boston,MA.

Thanks

Transfer To Local Office means:

Case has transfer to local INS office, they will take time to process and call for interview. It take Newark 3 months

Case to be review means: you case assigned to Adjudication Officer, he will review and decide. It take normaly 1 week to 30 days.

I485 Process is:

RD-->ND-->FP-->File Maintenance Area--> Assign-->(Final Stage) decide/Transfer/approve/RFE/Pending for Other reason

Hope you will get your answer.

I think that "To Be Reviewed" is an answer to callers from IIO, as different IIO could provide different language statements. Case tansfer is just one of Officer's decisions. Your case might be ok.

fingerprint

Has there been any applicant who have gotten their applications approved without getting any RFE for fingerprinting though their fingerprinting expired. My fingerprints were done on Jan 29,01 but we recieved by the INS on February 6th, 2001. I wonder does the clock starts clicking from february 6th or Jan 29th.

Fingerprints expire in 2 months

My FP will expire in 2 months. I did not recevied any information to redo FP.
