I recently requested an inquiry to USCIS about the status and they responded..."The processing of your case has been delayed. All applications received by this Service are required to have routine security checks that are resulting in delays of the adjudication of applications. As a result of the lack of manpower to complete the checks in timely manner, we have no control over how long these checks will take. We can give no definite indication of when they will be completed......"
Does this mean my case is pending for FBI name check? or any other USCIS check?
My wife's case status inquiry response was something like this....
".... The processing of your case has been delayed. All applications received by this Service are required to have routine fingrprint checks that are resulting in delays of the adjudication of applications. As a result of the lack of manpower to complete the checks in timely manner, we have no control over how long these checks will take. We can give no definite indication of when they will be completed. We apologize for the delay. Fingerprints have an expiration time frame; they areonly valid for 15 months. If they are acceptable prints, then the Service can send the file for final determinination......
Notice the difference of reason for delay between my and my wife's case. Can some one guide what can be the potential reason for delay and any tip to handle current situation?
Many thanks.
