I got a similar message this morning for my I-485. my case in jan 02. I got an RFP before and responded on may 11th. after 3 month almost they update me with this message which has no clue.

It sounds like an RFE message
 
It also happened to me after one of the inquiries.

Don't seem to make any difference though.

Same questions again and again..

There are many threads out there with same question again and again.
Leeee said it right. In response to the inquiry you or your representative initiate, INS responds either by Fax or snail mail.
I for one received a snail mail. In the response I received the officer mentioned that they assign cases to an officer in batches of 50 or 100 and that my case will be adjudicated in the order it was received. The letter also states that, I need to give ample time to the officer to judiciously evaluate my case. So figure out guys if you are number 1 in the batch, you get your GC first and you are last you get last.
I guess, in the batch I am, the officer is on long vacation.

I got the same email last week when I had my lawyer contact them about my Change of Address. Yours should be something similar.
