When I check my case status online, it says "after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Processing normally takes between 60 and 90 days. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready."
What do they mean by "new card".
Some people have a message that says "On October 17, 2002, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please speak to an Immigration Information Officer during business hours."
A friend was saying that ordering of the new card is the first stage of EAD. Once INS receives new card, then the message changes to "an approval notice was mailed".
Is that correct ? If so, how long does it take for the new card ?
