What does the transfer notice contents mean?

Hi,

I got the transfer notice from VSC saying the following

********************
Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

On July 13, 2006, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to our office in LINCOLN, NE for them to schedule and conduct your interview. Scheduling can take several months. Our office in LINCOLN, NE will notify you when they schedule your interview or take other action on your case.
***************************************

does it mean my name check and other security clearance are over and they are waiting for the date to become current. Anyone has any idea on this?

Thanks

Usually it does not happen with EB-2 NIW. am i right? it is quite strange for me. anyway if you have any idea how the interview will be and if it is there with in how many months/years NSC will take to conduct the interview. I am in a black hole I believe :)

From http://www.immigration.com/newsletter1/intvcrii485.pdf, it would seem that, being in your category, you should be waived interview... Yet, the transfer notice implies you are not. I haven't had that kind of experience so I can't even make an educated guess... Maybe somebody else will chime in.

Sounds like your PD is still not current. That might be indeed what USCIS is waiting on before they can resume processing your case (or schedule your interview). Hang in there and don't lose hope!

Thank you civ2ru for your input. Yes my PD is not current. do you think my NC is over by now?

Not strange... I had interview, and many others in NIW category did... I think, they may or may NOT waive it, up to them.
And, transfer does NOT mean your NC is over! I was transferred in 2004, interviewd in June 2005, NC was pending later until ? 2006...

Then why did I get the transfer notice saying that the preliminary processing on my case has been completed and our office at NSC will notify about scheduling the interview. Scheduling can take several months. That is what written in the transfer notice.

By the way how was your interview and what are the documents Immigration officer wanted to see. Please send me PM.

You didn't mention the "preliminary processing completed" part in your original post. That does sound hopeful and it could mean that your NC is done.
