What does the following RFE AVM mean?

Hello,

I just called the CSC INS center and got the following information on
my case, quoted "On June 19, we have received your reply to our RFE
requirement. It is now taking between 30-60 days to process this kind
of case. However, because we have finished the preliminary processing
on this case before we sent out our RFE request, it may take 90 days
to process this case. You will be receiving our written decision."

My question is: since they have done the preliminary processing, why
it will take even longer (90 days) to process the RFE, although the
AVM said only 30~60 days is needed.

Thank you very much!

BTW, I am now applying in the category of EB-1b(OR).

Written decision

The words "written decision" is not usually good news. Your best bet is to speak to an IIO and find out what the heck is going on. Brian.

hello

Hi. I do not think the word "written decision" means good or bad news ---mine after rfe said the same with the processing time of 300 days - I got an approval notice aftre 5 days of them receiving rfe ---CSC AVM especially after rfe is not reliable (per personal experience only)

re: Hello

I stand corrected. I should clarify. I have deducted that the messages are different depending on the service center used. For some, "written decision" is bad news. Usually, good news is indicated by the word "approved". Brian.

Actually it is the same at all centers

It just depends on the words. if it is "written decision sent on" usually means denial. But if it is "written decision will be sent ...it takes so and so number of days to process" usually means the case is yet to be decided on. My personal experience of course. I had heard the same message after RFE response and case was approved in 7 days after the response was received

The message means that you should wait for a desision on your case for as long as it takes (30-60-90-300 days). :)

Don't pay much attention to the stupid numbers in the message. It's created by an idiotic machine. My message kept saying 30-60 days for over a year. Then it switched to the message like yours for another 2 months.

So, just wait and don't lose your sleep on how come that 60 - X = 90. Perhaps, that message-creating machine thinks that preliminary processing takes a negative number of days. :))

Good luck!

ignore the message you get it in approx 4 wks

Mine went through the same process and was approved in less than 4wks after RFE.
