What does Biometrics mean?

Hey everyone - I have been looking for a answer to this question - but my online research has not yeilded anything yet...
I filed for my I-485 2 months ago with a receipt date of September 9th, 2007. I received a letter for Biometrics Code 3 last week and got done with that today.
Is the Biometrics a good sign ? I dont want to be foolish and think that it may be - in some "Magical" way - a sign that my I-485 might be approved soon - given that we only filed 2 months ago...but does this in any way indicate anything about the progress of the GC application

Any responses would be highly appreciated.

Biometrics (FP) are required part of the process and is done for all applicants, even if PD is not current, it does not mean that GC will be approved after it is done. But if someone fail to make it to the appointment or change it then definitely GC can be denied.
