what documents should bring with when travel with AP for re-entry. My attorney said only AP and passport. I am kind of doubt.

Fire your attorney...he forgot to mention your original birth certificate with triplicate copies. Just kidding. I personally don't know anybody who was asked more than that (passport and AP) but feel free to carry a file containing copies of receipts of all GC related applications, approvals, I-94s, EADs, etc. if it makes you feel more secure/confident.

I traveled several times abroad and the only thing I ever needed was the AP and passport.

My wife also was only asked for AP and passport, although I would suggest taking the original I-485 receipt notice as well.

Very safe! I just returned from visiting another country last month. No problem at all. They did not even ask why you go there. Just give them AP and it will be fine.
