Folks,

Is it not amzing that we have a governer of california
who himself is an immigrant, and even then california
service center seems to be an absolute toilet when
it comes to processing applications.

On a deeper analysis you would find that this attitude
of ca service center is just pure racism, which is an integral
part of life in US. Can you imagine a philipino or a
chinese immigrant who just became citizen in last 10/20 years becoming governer of california.

I say the next campaign idea should be to use
those receipt notices as toilet paper and mail them
to Laguna Niguel to show these morons how much
repect (or the lack of it) those morons at the helm of affairs in INS have geneated with their careless (I dont care) attitude.

Immigration is not a California problem, it's a federal issue. In fact for a long time California is asking Fed to provide more funding for immigration in California and fix the problems. But it was never done. The current funding is not enough for a big state where a significant number of residents are immigrants. I am not defending current governor, but it's just fact. BTW, CSC is located in California, but it's only for serving California. It's for all pacific western states.

I don't think it's racism. It's the way it is. There are several reasons for that. In fact being a immigrant I find, sometimes we don't involve into all the political and social issues of this country. We earn money, live in crimefree suburbs and take care of our family. And we never try to cross this line. And when something wrong happens we blame to the culture of this country. But it's not true for all the immigrants. Some people struggles to feed their family (do they have time to involve themselves in politics?).
There are other reason too - communication skills, acceptance in other communities, financial support (if our current governor did not put his own money in his campaign, he would be governor today). These factors are certainly not racist factors.
BTW, if you look at local level (city and county offices) you will find lots of immigrants holding their offices. And, in last primary election (2nd march), a significant nominees were immigrants. let's hope some of them will reach to state or federal level in near future.
