What do do? Pls advice!

Gurus please advice!

My PERM is pending for 1+ months. Its under EB-2 and telecom industry (not IT) with MS+0 (skill level 2). Its through consulting firm (100+ employees). I dotn knwo how tough is to get GC for telecom these days for EB-2. I am getting Permanent offer from big wireless company (<15k employees) willing to do my GC under EB-3 (since the positin is EB-3 for everyone) and good position/salary. Its should be a stable job. I am from Bangladesh (non-retrogessed country). I need to decide in a week or two. Really confused!. I dont want to loose this permanent oppertunity for family stablity and dont want to wait for GC as well.
Which one you guys prefer, please share.
 
EB3 Category for Bangladesh is also retrogessed

You have to wait longer for your GC. Your PERM case shouldn't take more than 1 more month. Then it will take 3 to 4 months to get your EAD.When you will get your EAD you will get more offers. But if you are stuck in GC process you will be in a hell. It's upto you what you will prefer.

GC or carrier?

Thanks nohope. So you mean carrier is not important as long as GC is not at you hand? I have seen people with GC without jobs or without any significant benifit but seen people without GC working on good job and satisfied. Looking at the history, for IT and Tech folks, I hardly see anyone without GC if they are on there filed for last 5-6 or 7 years?

How much time do you have left on your H1B? If I am you and I have time on the H1B I would stay for the GC. It should not take you more than a year to complete the process, given that EB2 is not retrogressed. EB3 is, and that would mean you waiting for 4 more years to submit complete the process. Why wait for 4 more years? Also, think about what is going to make you feel safe and secure?

I have a very good job. I am in 7th year of H1B extention. My company is laying off. If I get laid off I have to go back to BD. If I had GC at least I could look for another JOB. I am saying if you are qualified you will get another JOB and you are not jobless right at this moment. But you don't have to go through the pain we are going through.If you are in your 1st year of H1B then you can take the risk to wait longer for your GC. I am not giving you any decision, only suggesion.
Go to traditional labor certificate forum. That will give you an idea how many IT profesionals are crying for only labor certificate. GC is a dream. So many people like myself are almost ready to leave the country after working 7/8 years and living 13 years in USA. They think it is total waste of valuable time of their life. Nobody Cares.

It is my 7th year in US. There is NOTHING that I want more than a Green Card. I am SICK of begging for a visa to work, of the uncertainty, of not knowing what is going to happen tomorrow, of checking the newspaper to see if USCIS decided something else. GC will give you security. There are not a lot of employers that start the GC process. I would say you will have way easier time building your career WITH a Green Card. And you are going to quit in the middle of a SURE process because you are PROMISED something?!!
 
Thanks Unsure. There is no reason for me to disagree your views. This is my 23rd month in H1 and 4+ more years to go. this is the reason I am on delimma. Ofcourse, who dont want the GC fast but I was little worried because of EB2 as a contractor. I am on SVP<7 & Level II. PW is not a prob. DOL/USCIS might ask why a contracting company needs masters for the postion and such (may be its not an issue, I dont know). This current oppertunity wont wait for me that longer.
Anyway, I havent decided yet and will see how the things will move. Hope you guys get your residency soon. Lets pray for the people out there who are dying everyday, who just need a home that they can live in peace.
 

Have you discussed the possibility of having the new company process the GC and I-140 on your behalf as a future employee?

No st4rguitar. They are multinational big company. I dont think there is any reason for them to wait for me and process my GC without me joining this current position.. but after interveiw/recommendations etc.. they want me to take that senior position job and ready to sponsor as required. As you know these days, companies dont want to increase head counts in tech area. They want to go by the company rule to sponsor me as they are doing for other folks after joining.

What do you think for I140 approved on EB2 with staffing company. Is that so simple.. telecom industry (not IT) with MS+0 (skill level 2) for Sr. Engineer title.
