What determines your interview date after a transfer?

I noticed that some people receive an interview letter shortly after the transfer, and some wait for over 4 months.

I'm currently waiting for over 2 months (San Jose office), I wonder what is your experience.

My attorney says that the date of the actual interview in the district office is not based on the transfer date, but rather according to the original filing date at the regional office, and it also depends on the current workload at the district office.

Is that true? Can you predict when you'll receive the interview letter based on the current processing dates of the district office, which is currently June 4, 2004 for I-485?

I noticed that you got the interview letter, could u let me know your original filing date at the regional office and your transfer date?
Thanks

485 was filed on Aug 2004.
I received a "transfer for an interview" letter on the beginning of Nov 2004.
I have not received the invitation to an interview yet, though.

greencard,
Maybe your attorney is right -- the original filing date plays more important role on interview letter.
My case was filed on Aug 2004, same as yours. I knew mine got transfered on Oct 18 from online message instead of any postal mail. I am a little curious about why your got a letter.
Keep in touch since we are on same boat.
Thanks,

I believe that any online notice from INS should follow with a written notice. I suggest that you'll investigate why you haven't received one, as it may indicate that there's a problem with your registered address at the INS.
