Hello

I am a 2014 selected from Asia with a high case number, I don't think that my case number will be in the cut off list.
I notice from previews years that in the last few month there will be in the visa bulletin the word "current" instead of a cut off number, what that exactly mean, does it mean that any one with any number has the chance to have an interview? or no one with a higher number than the last one can apply?
I am currently in the US finish master degree and currently under TPS status.

Please Help, thanks

Current mean everyone that submitted their forms to KCC will have an interview regardless of case #. Btw, what is your case #? And are you from Iran or Nepal?

The meaning is slightly different if you are already in the US and want to adjust your status to permanent resident without leaving the US.

malek26, what are your intentions with regard to the next steps?

I want to adjust my status without leaving, I am from Syria and going back is not an option right now.

Sadly enough it is more than likely that Asia may not go All Current at all this year.

Well I am trying to be optimistic, so if they change to current after three month from now, what that exactly mean to me. Do I have a chance even if my case number was not included in the cut off.

Should I pay the fee and try?

Hold on to the fee; it may go to waste.

You will learn that you are current about 75 days before your actual current month (either by your number being less than the cut-off or your region going All Current).

For instance, in mid-July the August visa bulletin is released. The August visa bulletin shows the advance notification for September currents. So if you were to become current in September you will learn that in mid-July.

Technically, you can file immediately (in mid-July), but it is likely that it may be rejected unless you wait and file on Aug 1st (you still can give it a try before Aug 1st).

The two items that will not be immediately available for your filing is your Medical exam, and your $330 per person DV fee payment receipt. Medical exam is necessary. You can get it in as short as 3 days (if no undesired medical condition).

You can send the package without the DV fee receipt. You will take the receipt to your interview, which will be some time in September.

my number is EU39XXX
If I have an interview in August, do you guys think that is it enough time to adjust my status in USA.Once I get an interview and interview result is positive, does it mean I for sure get the visa or not?

There is nothing to adjust after the interview. The either grant you the visa or not.

If you were talking to to AOS because you are already in the US, I would not do it if your case number is current in August. There is a good chance that you are not finished by September 30.

Difference Between "Issued" & "Ready"

I was just wondering what is the difference between "Issued" & "Ready" in CEAC data.

issued means those who got visa................ ready are those who got second letter not interviewed yet...
