My I485 got update today to "On February 1, 2005, we responded to your request for more information concerning your case. If you have not received our response within 30 days from this date, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283." I have changed my address, I don't know, if it is related too. If it is a RFE, I hope it is some thing simple. Any comments?
Regards

valcris- I go the same message fo raddress change- my husbands did not get his until the next day.
Likely it is address change and they just did not update spouse yet.

address-change

did you call USCIS about your wife's address change? if not thats why her's didn't get updated.
Also you might want to call them and give them I-140 LIN number and update the address there as well.
You have to send the AR-11 forms as well.
Approval notices will not be forwarded and you have to pay $195 to get duplicates.
I got similar message when i recently changed address, but Feb2nd my 485 was issued an RFE and it was different from the standard message you posted.
Like some one said in this thread, 14 days is the KEY word for RFE.

Urgent help!!!: I485 considered abandoned by NSC

Deal all:

Here are the details:
My friend moved here (California) from Wisconsin last January, with I140 approved and I485 pending more than 180 days, He changed job from company A (at Wisconsin) to B (California). He filed AR11 as well as AC21 when he moved.
Last March, NSC issued a RFE for his I485, which was sent to the lawyer of company A, he knew about it through the email from NSC, but didn’t know the content of RFE. For the next 3 months, he has been calling national customer service center and his previous lawyer many times, trying to get the copy of the RFE letter. He got the letter on last July (from the lawyer of company A) and replied on last August. Which passed the deadline specified on RFE. However, The BCIS webs site then updated the message to “we received your response to our request for evidence or information. It is taking between XXX and XXX days for us to process this kind of case…..” a week later.

Believing his cased was resumed, my friend filed 3rd EAD and AP application last October, but didn’t receive approval notice. Since his old EAD was going to expire this Monday, he went to local CIS district office to get iEAD, only to be told his I485 case was considered to be abandoned and wasn’t in NSC anyone since he didn’t reply RFE in time. However, until today he didn’t receive any letter or notice from BCIS.

What are my friend’s options here? He got different feedbacks from different places and not sure what to do next:

The lawyer of company B told him to start with I140 and I485, but someone from CIS national customer service center told him he can file i485 only since he has an approved I140, he would like to reopen his case, however, more than 90 days have passed since the case was considered to be abandoned, he couldn’t even file the motion to reopen the case.

Your input is high appreciated.

Ok so let us update once we get the actual mail

Just got the mail for the Actual RFE request for me and my wife (today-Feb,8,2005):

1.) For me : Proof of Employment

2. ) For my wife : Proof of Marriage ( If we are still together - funny ? ) - My lawyer told me that since we have been just married for less than 2 years before I-485 was filed , they need proof that we are actually married. These range from birth certificate of your kid , conjugal properties , W2 , bank statement, credit card statement, lease agreement or any proof to justify that we are together ...

There you go.

An immigration lawyer will surely have the best answer for this. I am currently reading the RFE that I received today that at a required deadline date without response, your case will be considered abandoned.

The only thing that worries me also is that he changed his working jurisdiction from WI to CA.AFAIK, you should stay on the area where your LCA was applied which is WI. It maybe a matter of re-applying his I-485 again to put him back on track . Definitely, he needs a lawyer's help here.

Good Luck.
