What can I ask them on day 60?

Hey everyone!
Today is day 700 since our RD for our I-485's. We sent certified Birth Certificates as per the RFE and got a "wait for 60 days notice" on Nov 17th...
You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response.....
Day 60 is next Tueaday. On day 60 should I call them and ask where our applications are in the process?

Can I ask if we have cleared name check or do I need to have an infopass for that?

if you speak to customer service rep they cannot tell you about namecheck. only district reps can tell you (vermont, california, etc) and they will not always disclose it. the 60 days waiting period does not give you anything else. you can initiate an inquiry on our case and then wait.
 
What number do I call for Nebraska?

Then can I call Nebraska where our cases were filed to ask about name check? Does anyone know the Nebraska phone number I can call?

I am kind of in the same situation as you. It has been more than 60 days since They have received a response the RFE, but my RD is still within the 6 month processing time. Every time I call ( I have talked to both national reps and the service center reps), they keep telling me that they won't open an inquiry until my RD is within the processing time.
You can try but changes are they will want you to wait. That 60 day period really doesn't mean anything.

My 485 RD is Feb 8, 2005. When is yours? Explain what you mean by your case is still within the 6 month processing time. You mean they have 6 months to process a 485 case after they recieve a REF?

After getting the LUD that they have received your RFE response, have you got any other LUD within 60 days?

My RD is 9/30/05, they received my RFE in Mid Nov, I recently got a LUD on 1/1/07. My 60 day will end by mid Jan.

Robin555 I think you should call them after 60 days

Yes, I have received another LUD very close to the one right after they received the RFE. But it has been more than 60 days even after that LUD.

My RD is August, 2006. USCIS posts the processing times on their web site for all the centers. According to that it takes them 6 months to process a case. We all know that it is not true but they want you to wait at least 6 months. Your RD is almost a year, so I guess you could call them. But check the web site first to look at the times for the centre that your case at.

I have not gotten any LUD's since the original Nov 17th, 2006 date that said they recieved my info from the REF and they will inform me of their decission in writting, bla, bla in 60 days... January 16th, 2007 will be the 60th day. There have been on LUDs or communication since Nov 17, 2006. I want a number dirrectly to Nebraska so I can get some answers on Tuesday..Does anyone have one? :mad:

The 60 day period is from the date they USCIS received the RFE. According to the web they are now processing cases with receipt date May 6, 06. So your RD is past.You can just call the national center.
 
Does this mean by mail only, not including electronic updates?

On November 17, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response...

No, you will get electronic updates when they do something with the case. After Jan 16 you should contact them.
