What benefits does the 245(i) give to people that have been in status all the time and have not file

My employer is planning to file my LC through RIR. We are still undergoing the recruiting process. Please share your thoughts on the effect of the 245(i). What are the benefits if I file LC before 4/30/01? Thanks in advance.
