What are the options for a GC holder to bring spouce?

I am GC holder for the past three and half years and I like to marry person from India working in Dentistry field. I learned from various source saying that the waiting period for spouce to get GC takes 4-5 years and spouce can't come to US when the case is pending. Here are some options I am considering to bring her here.

How about:
1) Applying visitor's visa and bring spouce to US and get married here. Can
she stay once she has married a person in US and file her GC?
2) Apply for a student visa and come with F1 Visa.
3) how anout applying for board certification exam in Dentistry.

Please let me know pros and cons of each of these options.

Thanks.

Try dual intent visa...

You may want to try getting her over using a dual intent Visa like H1B. It worked for us. F-1 or Visitor Visa will not work if you get married.

Check out the thread of Folllow to join. You may find lot of options there.

Good Luck.

1. You cannot do this. Not only does it violate the visitor's visa intent, but she will not be in valid status, because she cannot file her I485 until the visa number becomes current for her. She has to be in the US on some other valid status while waiting for the visa number.

2. A possibility, but F1 is very hard to get if you are married to a US resident. The best way would probably be for her to come here and study, and once you become a US citizen, just get married and file I130/I485 together
3. Or yes, if she is eligible, a dual intent visa such as H1B would work.
