Somebody please explain. How would it affect current 485 cases that are pending? I have heard different things from different people. Sombody please clarify it in this thread for all of us.

I have heard it will only affect cases which are Consular Processing (CP) and not Adjustment of Status, IS THIS TRUE?

If it will affect both case of either cases, who exactly will be affected.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE , answer this thread.......

Thanks

P.S
I just checked my 140 approval and found out that the Priority Date is Sep2002.

Please let me know if this will affect me in any way

No offense, but anyone from India may be knowing.

Applicants from all states from India applying US VISA MINUS
Applicants from states Gujarat + Andhra Pradesh applying US VISA,
(Was apprised of this 8 years back by a knowledgeable official from consul's office), almost 70% of applications comes from these 2 states. The categories ranges from B1,visitor,H1B to Immigrant petitions plus many others (the irony is 80% of those turn out to be would-be or prospective immigrants).

if you take out those numbers, result =>

1) India automatically qualifies for DV VISA lottery.
2) Doesn't become one of those victims of retrogressed countries. :p

I have no complaints, but just giving out the statistics. You r 100% right, not from those 2 states. Even more ,i was just born in India but my parents were from ex-soviet republic, they were employees at the consul's office at Calcutta. I did my engineering from a reputed institute from eastern India and my secondary schooling too. I am totally a Indian citizen now holding an Indian passport and the other country's passport. My wife is an Indian too.
