what affect does vacation without pay have on GC.

Hello Gurus,
can somebody pls throw light on this. i filed 485 6 months ago. my project is coming to an end. employer is looking for a new project and has also given an option to take a vacation without pay till i get new assignment.
could anybody pls tell me what effect will this have on my GC?
