What about if missed FP scheduled time?

Hi, All,

I am planning to have one month vacation (from Mid July to Mid August) in my home country, I haven't got the second notice of FP, my concern is, if I missed the second FP notice and scheduled time during that time, will I be in a big trouble?
My first FP notice has a line, " If you are unable to appear at this time, you may go .... before ...". One of my friends just got the FP notice and said it has to be done on that day, which is just three weeks from the noticed date. This new situation make me more nevious.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

I think your attorney also get the FP notice.. So inform him/her to reschedule it.. request should say your are in india and also the return date, so that they will give you the rescheduled date after you reach here..

If you don't mention it they might reschedule it for a day or week.

I did I-485 by myself, I think what I could do is to let my friend check my mailbox, so one more question, is that ok that my friend call them to explain and reschedule the time for me? thanks.
 
Don't worry

I was in this situation - was on vacation, missed fingeprinting. No problem - the appointment sais if you miss it, come by any following Wednesday (might be different in your center, mine is in Seattle). The letter also said that you have to do fingerprinting until <some future date>, otherwise the application will be considered abandoned. This future date was two or three months from the appointment itself - so you should not have a problem with just a month-long vacation.

Having a friend watching your mail is great, but you should be fine even without it.

The only problem was that on following Wednesday INS center was pretty crowded - probably lots of people go unscheduled. So they rescheduled for another day, I had to do second trip to INS.
