Hi , I´m new here and I need help with this problem.
My fiancee is US citizen and is right now inmate at a federal prison. (my record is clear
)That kinda delayed our wedding plans til 2008.
Now we had this idea:
We want to get married while he is in prison (as tourist)(its no problem, the inst. allows that) and after that I´ll go back to germany until he comes out in 2008.
I want to be prepared to be in the US right when he gets released, so what would be the smartest thing to do? I guess since he cant file tax returns, we´ll need a co-sponsor to file the affidavit.
Can I come over (married) as a tourist and then apply for residence permission wile I´m already there? Or can we maybe take care of all the paperwork while he is still in and I´m over here?? Can everything get mailed to be filed or will he have to be there in person? Problem here is, I believe I cant go to the US to visit him while I wait for visa approval!!!
