Welcome letter?

Hi,

My 485 stamping was done on April 3rd, it is almost 1 year.
So far, i didn't receive welcome letter or my card.

1. When actually do they send welcome letter?
2. When i called them last time, they asked me to call back after completion of 1 year, but lot of people got it in < 7 onths, is there anything else i can do?

I got approved on 2/15 and got the welcome letter on 2/28 which was issued on 2/22 and expecting the card this week. This is the pace at which things are happening as of today. One year back the story was different.
 
Received card in three weeks of stamping. No "Welcome Letter" yet.

Do I need to concern?

No need. Most of the people (including me) never get these welcome letters. It is just another example of the random methods of INS .
 
Also, my wife got 4 welcome letters (exactly same) and I got two, so may be got what was supposed to go to you.

abc13, you don't need to be concerned because welcome letter has time frame for card (which my letter says is 3 weeks), since you already got the card, no concerns.

Guys,
A question related to sylvania's issue.
If your passport is stamped, but you have not received your Card even after a few months, then is it safe to change jobs
(i) if your job was terminated OR (ii)you resign

My passport is stamped and I haven't received my card yet, but I got a termination letter from my employer effective april 2005.

I think you are fine. If you have been terminated then there's no reason to worry about in future. As you did your part but your employer did'nt.

FYI,

I never received I-485 approval notice but instead I received "Welcome Notice" and I submitted that to INS to get my PP stamped and get cards in another 2 months last year ..... How this sounds ?? :)

Don't worry about any other letters/approval notices. Once card is received everything is fine
 
If you haven't recieved a welcome letter - you can always view a pdf format on the CIS website. The information is basically the same. I wouldn't worry too much about the welcome letter as long as you got your PP stamped.

As for your GC - I suggest you submit an inquiry to the service center inquiring about your plastic card. I believe they tell people to inquire if its been 1 year or more since stamping.
