I am a beneficiary for an I730 case and am currently in the US. Two weeks ago, my wife got a letter that the case has been transferred to the local office. We made an info-pass appointment and went to talk to an officer. The purpose was to see if we what they were looking for. Well, when we got there, the officer told us that they have not received the file and they don't process I730.

Is anybody aware of a similar experiences?

Did you take the letter you got from Nebraska Service Center to your apptmt?(I assume this is who sent it to you)

Also, how much time passed between you got the letter and went to the local office? (sometimes it takes longer than you would expect)

If reasonable time has passed, then I suggest calling the 1800 number and putting a request on follow up. Sometimes files get lost as a result of miscommunication between their office (don't mean to scare you), but definitely don't just sit and wait. If I were you, I would try to locate where the file is.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
L.
