Weird when I check online status

Hi,


I did not receive any notice/receipt so I tried the number in the back (front did not work) of check starting with ESC and when I checked the status. it says last updated March 28th and when I clicked case number it says "On March 15, 2007, we received this N400 APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION...."

But I have mailed the application on March 26th..anyone has same experience???

VSC:

Application mailed: 3/26/2007
Checks cashed: 4/2/2007
Receipt: not received.

Be happy they even put you in the online system. Most (including me) never were entered. Anything that actually is entered is fairly inaccurate anyways. It makes me wonder why they even bother with it, it's pretty much an indication of nothing...
 
Maybe the case number you entered is off by a digit or something causing an older case to be pulled up. I would wait for the receipt notice to get the correct case number.

I think number in the front is the real number.

I have same thing happening with my parents' file with VSC.

From what I read on this forum (this was discussed quite a few times):
Numbers on the back of cleared check is not your case number. They may be randomly pointing to someone else's case - that is maybe why you see odd date.

Just to update, my tracking number on the FRONT (handwritten) of the check just became active today (4/13/07). It took almost 14 days for it to appear online after the priority date.

Printed number on the back is not your tracking. Just wait few more days and try the number on the FRONT.

You are right I just checked my wife's info and tried with the numbers on the front of the check those numbers became active today and message shows like this (we received this application on April 4th), infact they received the application on April 2nd and check was cashed on April 4th.

Good to hear that. Hopefully they will update Fingerprint and IL in timely manner.

For me, they had the date correct (I think). I don't know when they received it (I mailed it on March 27 - first class no tracking) but on back of the check they had April 2nd printed (I assume my priority date).

I got receipt today. Priority Date on the notice letter is 03/28/2007 and Notice Date is 04/09/2007.

supercomp, you are right. Number on front is correct and back is wrong. My
receipt number matches to number on the front of the check.
I guess we both got on same day.

Don't forget, days, and even weeks don't matter in the process. It's months and years you need to worry about.

Don't fret over minor delays - you will go back. Sit back, check your mail every day, and let the process unfold.
 
I got fingerprint notice on Saturday. FP is on 24th.
