My wife's maiden name was same as her married name, there is an RFE "Explain the fact that you and your wife shared the same last name before marriage.

Please help me with your suggestions.

Thanks:confused:

Are you kiding?

My wife and I share the same last name prior to our marriage. Another reason for RFE. Is the officer processing your case an alien from another planet or what?

Keep me posted and good luck.

If you are a Tamilian, show evidence and explain that your fathers First name becomes your Last Name. and Similar is for your spouse.

In case you have submitted a Affidavite for your birth, your father would have said, I xxxx son of yyyy born on dt ddddd and so on. xxxx for you and your spouse may match but yyyy and ddddd will not match.

These kinds of RFE's are possible since in India, we do not have a standard convention to name our kids.

Heard of this problem before

I remember reading in one of the online chats for a similar case. The attorney responded by saying that it is common for people from Andhra Pradesh where Reddy is a common last name for both spouses. She advised them to get a letter from a University professor of Cultural anthropology explaining the same.

My 2 cents,

Vijay

My attroney has sent me an affidavit format which my wife needs to put from her side, stating that her maiden name was same as her married, and she is indeed the same person...

Let' see what will happen !
