Weird EAD scenario, feel in the crack of the system

My EAD renewal (4th ead) was applied on June 2nd week and it got approved on the 3rd week. Online said case approved and card mailed on 24 june.

It did not get the card, hence i called the 1-800# they said to wait fr 30 days and then file replacement EAD. your card shd be lost in mail

I waited and filed the replacement ead on 28 July, Till date its not approved, my current EAD expired on 18 Sept and hence my employer terminated me.

On Sept 12 i went to local INS asking for intermin ead; they said no intrim ead since sept 1 st; they researched and said that my first card was approved and destroyed by the service center hence they wrote a letter saying pls reissue ead asap since it is a service center error.

I faxed it and asked for expedite request; i got a reply saying that expedite request is denied, your case is under review; we will take a decision in the next 10-15 days if it you can apply for another expedite processing...

I called on last monday they said your case is under review(but this is been the status since 13 sept)

What are my options here.

1. If they say case under review, how long does that take?
2. Shall I send another expedite request ?
3. Employer says ask them a letter saying that i can work legally in US (until the card is issued), will they give such letters ?
4. I am afraid to call often, they do have a log ? Shall i call again next week?
