Hi,

I am waiting for my n400 interview letter. Is it true that when you receive your interview letter, the CIS online case status will show "case status cannot be found" or something like this? Can anybody (especially with the Atlanta office) tell me? Appreciate your input.
 
It used to be the case. But like with other CIS related items, status change is random, inaccurate and not fully informative.

My case status says my application (N400) is still being processed. I am a USC for over 4 months and have also sponsored my wife's GC! Still the same status..


The "last touched date" is a good indication of how your case is moving.. For more info create an account on USCIS.gov

Thanks, Rahul. I did not know before that I can find a little more info on the CIS website. I just set up an accout and found out that the "last update time" was just 6 days after the receipt date. Does that mean it is still in the service center, not in the DO? If so, is it unusual because it has been almost a year and some other folks in the forum with PD in late Jan. 04 or Mar 04 mentioned that they have already done interview or received interview notice? I am just getting frustrated seeing the processing date at Atlanta has not moved since August. Thanks for you input.
 
Most Likely your file is in the Svc Ctr. Once the file moves to the DO you get an interview letter. What triggers the system's last updated date ? Noone knows!

Your info is very helpful. I was reading your threads for NNCP and have a question about it. My husband has been awaitng oath letter for 4 months now. And during this time has done 2 Infopass appointments. He just hears that you will get something in the mail. My question is that how do we know if it might be tha name chak procedure that is delaying everything? I mean if it IS the name check then as advised by you we should go ahead and start to contact FBI. We have also contacted our Congressman but still no oath letter :(
After the oath he has to sponsor me(hence the anxiety!!!).
