I am speaking about getting VISA Appintments in Chennai.

I know that the System is supposed to be fool proof. I believe it it and walk the strait line. I also pride in being am American.... however I cannot believe what I have seen.

When the interview dates are clogged for the next 6 months. There are agents in Chennai who take Rs. 5000 for appointment on most days. I did not believe it, I was like all you guys here however....

My friend's wife just got her on a appointment H4, he will not tell me what the contact or phone number of the contact but he said it was Rs. 5000.

So looks like the back doors are open... I feel cheated and feel like writing a letter to the consulate.

it is happening for a long time

Two of my friends also got the appointment like this.

Its in the vfs system which releases the available date immediately after someone cancels it. It all comes from their pool; They cancel someone's appointment and book it immediately for others. Its not a glitch.

They cann't book dates in bulk like before, since every entry should be valid now when booking the appoinment and match with the HDFC receipt.

To book it through VFS (which will be 1Q 2007) she has to query everyday , 24*7 until she gets one available date. I did query VFS site everyhour to get appointment for my motherinlaw. I took off also to do that one day which is very very costly compared to 5k Rs.

btw, if you have time to write to consulate, pls ask them to reduce the appointment waiting time. Now it is 9-12months.
