we are wasting time by just chatting here...

what we need to do is collectively take visible and IMPACT creating actions (mind you - not violent!).

I personally believe that the Sponsors are the ones who can get the assholes in BCIS going - not we directly! So we need to create the pain on the sponsors.

Again, you can't do this alone - we need to do it collectively - yes 'mass movement' where it starts being a pain to to the sponsors or the government.

I do not think MAILs will help - it's not a visible action.

Imagine something like ALL I485-pending guys in one company take vacation on the SAME day giving the same reason - which is 'silent protest' against the BCIS. Now imagine that it is for 5 companies on the same day- extend that to ALL in California! That's going to be damn powerful I think to start with.

Challenge is - organising, preaching and making it happen.

Just cribiing on the message boards are not going to help anymore i guess...

Fire, U certainly do have a point in that there is no point cribbing abt this on a message board.

But am not sure about the protest part, in the sense that how many will come forward at the risk (perceived) of being singled-out by BCIS and ending up with a further dealy/denial. The fear in "reality"may be "farfetched" but still it will play a heavy role in deciding about a protest

It's a great idea, may be you can ask all the members of this group as to who will support a protest, let's say a march to the BCIS office in San Jose and then you will know whether we can gather atleast 100 protesters.

The application barely got 500 signatures, and that you can do from the comfort of the very chair you are sitting on.

Why does BCIS care if we take a vacation. Its us who r gonna be in trouble and fear abt loosing the darn jobs we are holding to.

fireontop mentioned at the very onset that we need to get the sponsors involved in a big way.

If there are a sizeable 485 pending guys working and all take a day off for the same reason, the sponsor is sure to notice it. If his business is affected, then more so.

Good thought, but will it gain mass ...................?

Silly - I think the whole reason why the petition you have floated is not being signed by any more than 500(as you say) is because I think people think it is an idea which won't work - meaning it lacks the punch!

Next, with the marks on the forehead,etc. ideas of yours are
close to creating nuisance in the campus i guess. Plus,
it still does not create the PAIN on the SPONSOR

Folks, just to clarify, we all know that BCIS is not listening to you. So what do you do? Who do you think BCIS will listen to? Surely not the lawyers. They can only listen to the entity for who BCIS exists -- the SPONSORS. So, you need to get the SPONSORS butt moving!!!

Again, just to clarify, it not necessary to only choose the synchronised-vacation route- that was only one alternative - but I personally believe you need to definitely CREATE THE PAIN FOR THE SPONSOR . So think of ideas that will create the PAIN - the only idea of sync'ing is then it become extremely strong, visible and at least creates an illusion of a unified MOVEMENT starting....

And remember, this country is very very worried about mass MOVEMENTS....

another idea - Do something which THREATENS THE JOB OF THE 15 OFFICERS OF BCIS FROM THE TOP!

I definitely know that things can't get done EASILY from BCIS!*smiles*

Pain to Sponsors!
You can not do anything to f... Sponsors unless the immigration law is changed. It is so much in favour of the Sponsors, so that they are exploiting the situation to the fullest extent.
Some of you may have reasonable sponsors but many don't. Many desi companies seems to have policies mend to exploit the situation.

I think we should revive the petition and I think we need to do some digging as to whom we should give this petition to. I believe if a senator of california or a congressman is given this type of petition with a well written letter representing all of us
it will be looked at and it will be considered.

we have a lot of people visiting this site and other similar sites if we can somehow build a relationship with the other sites we can do this... I'm serious guys. Its all better than sitting around and not doing anything.

Lets get some answers and not from BCIS agents that only do what they are told.

I dont know how much/to what extent the sponsors can help us. Because our I485's are pending, most of us are trying to stick to the same job(i.e. employer). Even the sponsor knows that after we get our GC, we will look for outside oppurtunities. So, whats the best for the sponsor?? With 485 pending and EAD's , most of the companies dont even bother about extending H1's. My guess is, most of the companies will not care/worry about getting our 485's approved.

Yes. Employer has every interest to keep your GC pending. He has every right by law for not divulging information to you.
For example my employer did not file my 485 concurrently despite my repeated request. When I asked to give me a copy of Labor and I-140 (to file 485 myself) , he refused that telling, that these are employers petition. What kind of system this is! Employer gets bond signed to file GC and then they use delay tactic to exploit for utmost extent possible.

Exactly it is a form of "Slavery".
One would argue why Desi company exploits more. Because they know better the importance of GC. But I do not blame them in general because it is the immigration system, which provides them infrastructure for exploitation.

It is ironical that beneficiary("employee") does not have right to see the petitions like (140 or LC) filed for her/him. I had seen posts from employees whose companies refused to give even the I-140 receipt numbers to them , stating that as a company policy.

Things got little better after AC21 and faster H1 transfer (one can change job after applying H1 transfer) but we need much more reform to improve the plight of "H1 Slaves"

can you imagine with all this FREE talking here there is ZERO impact on BCIS (or the SPONSORS)? Just proves that we are SLAVES...

sometimes i think, fundamentally, we don't deserve to GET what we want, because we don't know how to GET it(meaning achieve it) - but we are good at cribbing if we don't get it! By the way don't think that working diligently for your SPONSOR means you know how to achieve your goal of getting the green card!

We can't even get united for simple things, we can't even make a united petty sacrifice!

in summary - I don't see any reason why BCIS should expedite the process.

Also, i don't think many of us deserve a GC because I see that many of us say that the SPONSORS don't even really NEED us because we fear we can get fired if we get united!!!

Feels like we are at best good at petitioning but not at GETTING what we deserve(we think!) in time.

You need to GET freedom from SLAVERY - it won't come to you!
