We are moving to another state - fingerprint issue

I just got the fingerprint notice scheduled for late next month at Glenmont (Wheaton, MD).

However, I am moving to another state in Nebraska service center this month.

I heard that Glenmont at MD does not accept early fingerprinting.

Would it be possible for me to go the Kansas state and do fingerprinting there at the scheduled date?

What if ask them to transfer my I-485 from Vermont center to Nebraska center? My I-140 is approved already.

Please advise me on this. Thank you in advance.

we do not want to transfer our cases to NSC.. but, my wife has not received a fingerpring notice yet. We are hoping to get it before moving (was filed Jan, 2005) if we are lucky.

When we change our address, would they automatically transfer our cases (I-485) to NSC?

Also, I cannot find a telephone number of ASC..

No one will ask you to transfer any file. If anyone in ASC asks you - file a complain with VSC and senator.

Usually different location is not an issue. If you are asked then only explain them that you are in process of reporting the address change. For your satisfaction, I would suggest - take infopass appointment(to talk to the officer about your case) in the ASC which you intend to go for FP and talk to officer.

Jharkhandi,

I'm also in similar state. Just for clarification..

- Can I go to a different ASC on or before my current FP date and get my FP done?

- I am planning to file AC-21 which might trigger a service change. Should I wait for that to happen before FP?

- Or should I wait for the FP results to be updated and file AC-21?

I don;t want to confuse USCIS by doing FP and AC-21 in parellel, for I know that USCIS gets confused easily

thanks

Depends on the center. Some accept it - some don't.

If you do not need a service change - don't send a request. They will not do it at their own(usually that is what happens).

If you are suspicious - wait till your FP is done. Also AC-21 doesn't asks for a pro-active reporting from your side. You can do it any time you want or leave it altogether.
