Ways to find if 'Name Check' cleared ?

I called FBI today and I was told that my FP results were sent on the same day back to USCIS. However, they said that they are not taking any calls to provide 'Name Check' status.

What are means avaliable for 'Name Check' ? Will the USCIS case status mention if there are issues with 'Name Check' ? :confused:
 
what is the phone number to call the FBI and find out about the name check and do they have a specific number for TSC or is it the same 800 number?
 
FBI does not provide any information about name check status. You can call TSC and ask them whether your case cleared or not. I would suggest you have to do it quickly, since your Sched-A case will be retrogressed from November 1.

Thanks for your response - the reason I was asking - I was told when called them that they don't know whether NC cleared or not.

A quick update:

I finally reached TSC and they said that they cannot share the Security clearance and Name check details due to the 'Privacy Act'. They asked me to wait until the processing dates pass my ND and then give them a call. :(
 
Try again. May be you'll find a friendly person next time. I've had them tell me about my security clearance over phone.

When I called up and enquired, the rep who talked to me initially said everything looks fine when I asked about security clearance/namecheck and then immediately said that he is not allowed to tell us. I guess i have to try again to get a more friendly rep to confirm it.
 
Sounds a bit odd. So, if you call them after your RD becomes overdue, they will share the details with you? If not due to "Privacy Act", what would be the reason to call then?

Try the POJ trick for calling TSC - make sure you do not call the National Customer Service (NCS)...but connect to the Texas Service Center directly....for any info on 485 application status...

NCS reps - do nothing but ask you ton of questions and initiate a dummy enquiry...

for TSC customers Only: Call directly using POJ technique:
Dial National customer service number:
1-800-375-5283---select 1—select 2—select 6—select 1—enter your SRC number—select 1---select 3—and select 4 to speak to a TSC representative. If your I-485 SRC doesn’t work, punch in your I-140 SRC after going back to the main menu. When the representative asks for SRC number, give your 485 SRC)

keep calling TSC - until they give you a clear update YES/NO on your namecheck clearance or security clearance.....you may have to try 3 or 4 times, before you get lucky!
 
Actually, that is exactly what I did. And I got that response. But, I will keep trying. :cool:

They told me the same thing

I also called twice today and they told me due to privacy act they can't tell me anything. But the strange thing one of them told me to ask my representative to call. So i asked her why will she tell my lawyer and not me, then she said didn't say she will tell my lawyer anything but he should be the one to call because i am paying him to represent me.
 
Again, all these CS responses make no sense to me. What the reason to call them later, if they don't share the information? What the reason to make your lawyer call them, if they don't share the information?
Why do they give advice that make no sense?

Surprising, TSC wasn't this bad...

usually after one or two calls - they will invariably tell you that your namecheck is pending...They told me everytime...that my namecheck is pending...

never heard of this "privacy act"......may be some bullshit that TSC has come up with to avoid answering calls...in the last weeks or so...
 
Name check

Hi ,
I called the TSC thrice using the POJ method. First time the lady was very nice told me they recieved my FP results. When I asked for name check status she asked for my A# but I didn't have that handy so she said she can't tell me about name check without A#. I called again this time the lady was very rude, refused to give any information regarding name check . When I told her that the previous lady told that she can give me the information if I provide the A#. She asked my A# and told me my application was still under review. I asked does that mean my name check is pending she said yes. I called again and this time the agent didn't ask for alien number but told me mine and my husband's name check is pending and asked me to call after a month. Does that mean my name check is pending. Do they need A# to give you the results of name check. Please advice what I should do.
